SIARGAO is an island located in the eastern part of Surigao City. It is abundant with fisheries and aquatic reserved, white sand beaches and spectacular waves offered enough opportunities to enjoy its wide array of beaches from white to pebbled ones.
My visit to the Surfing Capital of the Philippines was short yet very fulfilling. From Surigao City,
I took a fast craft for 2 hours and headed to General Luna, the home of the famous Cloud Nine. That night, I mingled with the Surigaonon over dinner at the Boulevard. Boulevard is a place where people drink and party. You can also witness band perform every Fridays and Saturdays.

One of the must visit places in Siargao is Guyam Island. The island is an ideal place for people who seeks for a real beauty. Crystal clear water and white sand and pebbles welcomed me there. Accommodated by an open hut made of bamboo and coconut. Oh, what a perfect life! I found the perfect paradise in Siargao. No fancy cottages, no fancy amenities, just the unspoiled beauty of nature, just listen to the sound of waves and gentle breeze that touches your skin, and you’ll be relaxed and relieved from work related stresses.
Guyam Island never miss to impress me with its spectacular sunrise. See it for yourself and you’ll be fascinated.

My Siargao experience would not be complete without giving a visit to the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Cloud Nine. The place has a worldwide reputation for having a thick and hollow waves. Because of this, the municipality of General Luna and the Philippine Surfing Federation
hold an annual Siargao Cup, a domestic and international surfing competition every last week of September.

If you are a non-surfer, I recommend Magpupungko Lagoon of Pilar, Daku Island, Bucas Grande in Soccoro and spend a night at Guyam Island. These are the places you will never forget. Absolutely amazing!
How to Get There:
The fastest way to get to Siargao is to take a flight from Cebu City to Sayak Airport, Del Carmen, Siargao. In case you cannot get a direct flight to Siargao, get a flight to Surigao City.
Fast Craft Schedule from Surigao City to Dapa:
Roro Montenegro - 6AM and 12NN Fare: 250php
Fortune Angel - 5:45 and 11:45AM Fare: 250php
Standard Habal-Habal Rate:
Dapa – General Luna/ Cloud 9 - P200
Dapat- Pilar (Magpupungko) - 350
General Luna- Pilar - 500
